I used 5 blades on one quarter of a moose. My friend was working the other quarter with a havalon. He broke the first blade but after changing the blade he never changed again on that side. I realy like the product but I will stick with the fixed blade. I usually notice that my blade is getting dull when I'm gearing up to leave for the day. I love that within 30 seconds, I can have a brand new razor-edge blade on my knife, without dragging out the stone or other equipment.
