Would Prefer it tell you which way the batteries are suppose to be aligned in the scale. If NEW batteries, (either fresh out the box, or rechargeable dc2032 batteries) and the Screen WILL NOT TURN ON. Most likely Culprit will be the 2 Pieces of metal that Conduct electricity. The top on may be \"up\" and not able to apply enough force to complete circuit or, the Bottom on may be \"down\" and not able to complete circuit. Recommend Starting with top as its easier to access and then move onto bottom. My fish scale wasn't turning on and after 15 minutes of completely taking It down to the components, the Bottom piece of metal has to be adjusted from parallel to more or less perpendicular. Understand if bottom piece is to far upwards batteries will not fit in. \nAs for the Effectiveness (+-) on scale. Close. Used kitchen scale (both in kg, and Lbs) and within 0.1kg and 1 oz. \nSo acceptable for sitting in my room for a year+ . \nI paid probable 20$ for it. \nFind correct screwdriver for screws, they are cheap and will strip easily.
