We also use it as the topper for our futon when guests come and it's so much more comfortable than an inflatable mattress. It takes a few tries to get the inflation to work properly the first time. We let it sit out for a few hours and then rolled it back up and repeated and now it self inflates just fine. After years of using two pads with the inevitable middle gap and the sleeping pad rustle with every movement, we decided to go big, literally. We christened the pad on the San Juan River in November. Most comfortable night in a long time, even with the temps below freezing. The pad nearly self inflates, only needs minimal additional topping off either with a small pump or healthy lungs. Game changer. Morning, is a different story. Perhaps with time my technique will improve, but I went 3 rounds with Captain Comfort, trying different strategies to force out the air and achieve a compact roll and it won all three. So far (except for once in out living room) the easiest and least frustrating method was to roll the pad as a tandem. Both a bonding experience with your partner and workout. I have a 6.5 foot bed so the biggest size fits perfectly between my wheel wells. It's incredibly comfortable and I've slept on it during AZ summers and sub-zero alpine trips. After the first use I ended up purchasing a cheap better powered pump because it requires a lot of air. It does self inflate a decent amount but I find the pump makes setup and take down much easier. It made all the difference in comfort and warmth in upper 30 degree temperatures. Insulated, comfortable and it doesn't squeak, like an ensolite pad when moving around. It initially took a good amount of time for the pad to inflate when we first got it. But, it now inflates much faster.
