It is light enough to back pack all day over any sort of terrain (I am a 77 year man and it is not a burden) - the BOG Field pod is super versatile - giving me great gun control. I spend hours sitting waiting for the prey to appear - with the field pod I also make use of a light weigh folding camp chair/stool so I can sit comfortably while I wait. I use heavy weight varmint rifles from the Tikka range in 6.5 x 55se for heavy game and for light game a .204 Ruger - the rifles are kitted out with night vision optics for night work and with Burris Elliminator3 optics for the daylight work.
