The bow spider worked perfectly. It held my bow on my pack so my hands were free to use trekking poles during long hikes. I can't recommend this product enough. It was amazing to have the quick access to the bow offered by this system. At one point I ran up a mountain side with an 800ft vertical rise to intercept my bull and it performed as hoped. I had no problems with the bow falling out when the back was on my back. When removing the pack, be cautious of how you lay the pack down since the ground can lift the bow out of the spider and fall then. I do recommend having a string cover on your bow as well just since the lower cam isn't protected. Areas of improvement for this holder IMO include price, and a better way to disassemble and reassemble. The screws and tiny bolts are hard to line back up if you need to take apart. Also, the stud doesn't fit my bow super well, so I'd like to see a little more options there too. Personally I saw little use in the belt mount option, but others may. For me it was clunky in that setup. I have several of them hanging on the wall in my archery range for friends and family to use, I've even got one in my truck for transporting my bow. However, I attached a bow spider puck to my pack for elk hunting trip to Colorado and that's where things went downhill. The first day I had no problems but the second day my bow fell off the puck several times. One time resulting in my sight breaking completely off my bow. Upon meeting my hunting partner at camp at the end of the day, he informed me that his bow had done the same thing several times. I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone wanting to backpack in places. It's a great product for bow storage or transport, but it's real world applications are greatly lacking.
