They are not however bug spray proof, as I recently learned after my spouse “borrowed” and left it in her soiled bag, costing me my hydrapak buddy of 5yrs heavy use. The new one is 1.4 inches wider and 2.8 inches shorter. It doesn't fit in my hydration pack or insulated sleeve. I didn't double check the dimensions, which is on me. I'm disappointed that it changed so much, yet carries the same name. It's rugged, easy to use and the features are well thought out. I like the carry handle placement, it helps while your filling the bladder. I also like how you can control the flow of the water coming through the tube. I leave it set on full, but it's nice to know I can slow it down. As far as taste I have not noticed any funny plastic aftertaste that some people complain about. But, I grew up drinking from a hose so I don't cry about things like that. All in all the \"Taste\" factor is comparable to what you would experience from a Source bladder, so little to no taste at all. I would like to see some additional colors, earth tones like an olive green, coyote brown, tan, etc. on the hardware. Specifically on the exposed parts like the drinking tube and mouthpiece cover. Nemo accommodates my 20 year old 3L Camelbak just fine, so it’s not a volume issue but rather a problem of dimensions. The Force is shorter and wider and thus doesn’t fit. Half the problem is with the backpack for making the hydration sleeve so narrow. Wish there was more consistent sizing on these things, or a better way to know which brands are compatible. The bag itself seemed of decent, robust construction, but had to give four stars for fit.
