First off the knob to turn it on seems to get extremely stiff and really cold temperatures to the point where it's hard to tell when if it's on or not. Second for the second season it has developed a short to wear burns out the fuse immediately. Now with the cases on both the switch and the heater being thermoplastic welded together you cannot take them apart to diagnose the short. So you're only option is to buy a new. Also I believe it should come with the multi adapter for power supply. one as for the product working as described Yes it works great did it last as long as I hoped it would... But being a gift I figured I'd give it a shot. Now I can't ice fish without it. It works so well I don't even bring a scoop anymore. Cut a hole, drop the Ice Defense in and in minutes my auger slush is gone. It's great hole hopping too because in the 5 or 10 minutes you fish a hole it is melting ice each time you drop it in so all of your holes end up staying open!
