This set is a little mature for my 2 year old, but that wasn’t a problem because my husband and I had a great time putting this together after the kids were asleep. The instructions were easy to follow and I believe the age rating is appropriate for pieces of this size. They included extra pieces for some of the smaller items to ensure that even if you have a mishap you have a full set.
