Will be putting in some miles on them so we'll see how they hold up. Just like it shows in the picture, hill up, there is a flat spot on them at the front. First it felt weird, but ones I put on a 30 pound back pack and squatted down to grab my bow, it clicked. That flat spot is great to help you stay balanced when reaching down to pick up something. Don't have to try to balance on the balls of your feet when squatting down. They’re close to true to size, but I did go with a half size up from what I normally wear (10.5EE for this boot compared to my usual 10EE). The outsole is showing some wear which would be expected for the milage they’ve been through, but still has a good amount of tread left. They’re still waterproof when walking through a few inches of water when crossing a puddle or small stream, and they remain the most comfortable boot I’ve owned. For perspective, though I use them often, I haven’t tested them to the extent others will as I live in relatively flat terrain in Ohio, so I haven’t taken them anywhere with more elevation gain or rockier terrain than what you’d get in the hills of the southern part of the state. Like most boots, you’d be better off switching to whichever insole you like compared to what comes with the boot.
