There is a textured lining near the top of the zipper where it covers your mouth, also there is a reinforced layer on the back of the jacket where it covers your rear. The lining inside is extremely comfortable and warm. The fit is nice with an under sweater or without. Highly recommend this jacket. We regularly get -20 to -30 degree temps starting at the end of november with high winds. It took me 3 years to break this jacket. Got her stitched back up and a new zipper and it went right back to work. For reference I weigh about 175, 5'9, with broader than usual shoulders. So not a huge guy but not exactly small either. I ordered the small as other Kuhl products fit me great in small. Unfortunately with this one I was absolutely swimming in it. Looked like a ten year old wearing his dad's clothing. And that's the smallest size they make. Unless you like your clothes more loose fitting or weigh 185+, they just don't make this one small enough. I went with the non fleece lined instead and it fits great. Very happy with it. It shipped and arrived quickly! The fit is absolutely perfect, with me being 5'-10\" / 183 lbs with long arms, and wearing a Medium. I have another Kuhl jacket that is a Large, but Medium was the ticket for this one. The coat is pretty heavy duty, like a much nicer version of a Carhartt.
