We had a snow storm (5+ inches) and my wife thought it a good idea to give it early and WOW, what a great present! The temp was in the teens and the snow was plenty! The winds were gusting at 35+ mph, snow blowing all over. So, this is my 1st time wearing my new jacket and WOW! It is light weight and has some stretch to it, the outer shell and hood (canvas) kept the strongest of the gusty winds out and the lining kept things toasty inside - and dry! After the first part of clearing the snow off (the shoveling part) of the long driveway and the front and back walks, I was surprised in how warm but not sweaty I was and how much I wasn't being weighed down by my \"old\" favorite jacket and found I wasn't tiring! Then when it was time to use the snowblower, with the wind gusts, i was covered in snow but, not 1 smidge of snow got past the (by now) \"New\" favorite jacket defenses! I will admit, by now, I was on my 3rd pass (of usually 11 or 12 passes) and was starting to feel a little sweaty - but not the dreaded \"cold\" sweat, nope! The fit is form fitting and is on the smaller side so size up one or you'll regret it. Especially if you want to layer up. I am a large in everything but I'm glad I got this in an XL because I plan on wearing this with a hoodie underneath. Durable, warm, and nearly perfect.","text":"I bought my first one of these last year. I purchased the fleece lined and normal lining versions in Black and Blue. I loved them so much I bought both again in Carbon Gray to give me some options. I use the Carbon lined and non lined for my motorcycle rides in the spring, fall, and winter. They keep me warm, deflect the impact feeling of nearly all debris that may hit my chest area and arms. I love the inner security pocket for my wallet/phone. As well as the rear draft flap area which keeps wind from coming back up my jacket and shirt while I ride. Definitely makes my evening and afternoon cruises more enjoyable. I bought the XL. For the non-lined I wear a light dri-fit style base layer to keep me warm with it when the sun goes down on my evening rides. For the winter time i switch to the fleece lined one which I love the sealed off cuff and rear waist. Helps keep in the warmth. Any seasoned rider knows once you are riding and the sun goes down temps can drop quickly. I am never cold or too chilly with this jacket. It cleans up easy and layers well when I need to. The gusset cuffs are great for fitting around my riding gloves. I love this jacket. Dont ever stop making it! If there was one thing I would improve on is if i could add some breathability under the arm area a vent or something. Then i could wear it year round for rides.
