After a year in the field with a sloppy rifle consistently slipping off your shoulder, climbing over dead fall to have your riffle fall off and bounce off a log. I had enough with this sling. Ended up modifying the Stone glacier rifle sling system to fit a mystery ranch pack. Wish I could return it for my money back. I assumed the same would be for this sling but not even close, when installed as per the instructions I hadn't even made it out of my shop before my rifle fell off my shoulder. I was hoping it was a one off and I was doing something wrong. Sadly having taken it out a number of times now it's rare for the rifle to stay on my shoulder longer than 5 minutes especially in challenging terrain. \r\nIt is so bad I have no idea how it actually got released. I think it could be a good product if a few small modifications are made but as it is no, it is so bad I would rather carry the rifle in my hand with no sling. \r\nI have added a loop of bungy cord to the top of my frame which I have to slide the barrel through to make the product work. \r\nThe problem the design has is it doesn't account for most of the weight being high on or higher than the shoulder. The front strap stops it falling back but there is nothing to stop the heavier part sliding forward and when it does this with the stock holder in place it simple inverts the rifle and launches it forward. Listen to the other reviews. ANY dip in your right shoulder will send your rifle hurling towards the ground. If you hunt any western terrain with high slope angles and/or downed timber this sling WILL screw you when you need your balance the most. I found myself on the side of a 45 degree ravine using my trekking poles to keep me from sliding down and as I was putting one leg over a downed tree this sling, did what it does literally 100% of the time and fell off my shoulder sending my rifle barrel into my shin and caused my to lose balance and slide 10ft down the mountain-side. It was also enough force to break the skin on my shin and turn it purple for the rest of the hunt.\r\n\r\nI am not kidding when I say unless you are walking on flat ground this sling will cause your rifle to swing off your shoulder and into your shins. I have pain in the right side of my neck because I just spent 3 days having to ruck a 50lb pack while also constantly tucking my right arm to my side to keep my rifle in place. The quick release design does not work properly. If the quick release strap has a load, as it always will if being used as intended, it binds up and does not release. I wish they had a option for the newer style QD slings and would like to see the quick attach slider on both ends of the chest buckle to make it more pack friendly. Works well as is just took some tweaking and fine tuning. I used it on a Mystery Ranch frame with the Metcalf bag. The magnet quick release is awesome and is really quick and easy to deploy/reattach even with heavy gloves on. Two things that drove me absolutely nuts. 1, the “hook” that attaches to the waist strap that is supposed to hold the stock constantly came loose and the stock would randomly fall out which would totally defeat the “hands free” feature. 2, when I wanted to unclip the chest strap, it was anything but a quick release. It eventually broke at the snap and quit working completely. It was promptly returned to where I bought it when I got back from my hunt.
