Offers adequate smooth casting and retrieve without and glitches. I actually feel the prior version was smoother, but I not splitting mono here. I was disappointed the the new version doesn't include an anti-reverse switch / button. I may be old shool but I like that option even to pull some line off the spool . I don't understand reasoning behind an upgrade that eliminates something that can be useful.
