After that, it seems the plastic developed grooves from the heat of the rope friction and now the ball won’t even hardly finish half way. Taking it back and hopefully some Vaseline will help with this. They need to have a higher quality plastic or maybe like it with thin metal. It worked great, for the first 8 or 10 pitches. After that, the cheap plastic insert that the strings run through had grooves cut in it by the strings and try as hard as I might, I couldn't even get the ball to make it all the way to the plate. If you'd make that one piece out of good old fashioned American aluminum, it would last for 10 years. I don't know what changes you made but they are not to make the product better. The first one I had for a few years and it worked great. My daughter could get in a groove and the ball moved freely. This new one did not work from the first time we set it up. The nylon string made grooves in the ball and will go about 6 ft and stops. I have tried everything from putting the old ball on the new one to lubing the ball and it will not go. Right at the start... ball wouldn't travel more than 8'..at best. Had to shorten the cord to a total of 15'. Ball then would travel to the end... but only at a top pitch speed.... no curve balls, no drop or rise balls.\r\nIt's a good concept... but just work like they claim it does.
