The very first time I used it, I was trying to take it back off of my dog to work and it just shocked her out of nowhere, she was NOT barking, just mild wiggling as I unbuckled it and she screamed when it shocked her. The neighbors are changing and new are moving in. As a result our dogs (we have 4) are constantly on alert. The ability to program each collar for the individual dog is a game changer. The collars only affect the Dog that is Barking. No false alerts. Only correction when needed. No more law enforcement visits for noise complaints and calmer dogs all around. If you are on the fence upgrade and purchase this collar. Just a recommendation if you have more than one dog. We work sheep, cattle and the older crew work ducks. You can imagine the chaos that might occur when they get yapping in the yard pen. Now let me make this very clear, we do not use these collars for herding or when they are working, only at rest times. \r\n\r\nWe have tried other bark suppression devices but none were appropriate. We cheeped out and bought replaceable battery operated collars. BIG MISTAKE!!! When one barks they all get a correction because they were triggered by noise. We felt so sorry and ashamed because it was unfair. \r\n\r\nWe called PetSafe representative as we have training collars registered with them and explained our concerns. They were amazing with the understanding and knowledge of what it was we had been going through. They recommend the SBC-R from SportDOG as they are a sister company and all accounts are connected so warranty would be added to our account easily. \r\n\r\nThe SBC-R has three different modes to choose from. We typically use the progressive mode. You as a dog owner will appreciate the fact that these units DO NOT trigger from other barking or noises around them. How do we know for sure?? Well we have four (4) separate units in our clan on at the same time. We have watched as three were side by side our youngest started whining and barking and then yipped as the correction was administered. The other two looked around as if to say what happened? They did not get a correction. So yes it’s true they are independent of each other. The technology works. \r\n\r\nIt has been two days now and the wife and I have to keep checking the yard pen to make sure they are still there. LOL. The peace and quiet is one thing but honestly the biggest thing for us is the stress, anxiety and frustration between us because we no longer have to worry about yelling and screaming at them to SHUTUP, BE QUIET, ENOUGH BARKING and of course NOoooo!!!\r\n\r\nI will admit the cost was a bit of a shock at first but when we looked back at we paid out previously on all the lesser devices and failed attempts at bark control, we could have paid for these devices twice over. \r\n\r\nNow you can say yeah these people are being paid to say this… You would be ohhh so wrong.
