The grey quick release pull seems to work flawlessly. I feel like I will be trimming down the length of the pull strap but I do understand giving people options on where to tuck. Disclaimer: I have only used this on practice hikes so far but will put it through paces on 10 day bear hunt in the fall... I will update if I find any dislikes. So far... no complaints.\r\nFYI: I did not use bottom basket piece as I did not want rifle hanging below bottom of bag. Recently returned from a remote mountain hunt and found that with a heavy pack in difficult terrain, the grey section of the strap would slip in the clip, thereby loosening the strap and causing shifting. Perhaps with a lighter pack in less challenging conditions this would work but not for a serious hunt.
