I contacted customer service and was greeted by Shimeka. She was very kind and patient with me. After a very quick and easy investigation she shipped me a replacement for my original unit which has multiple issues. The new unit is perfect. The frame is solid, straight very well constructed as are all of the other parts. After assembly leveling was a snap. I would highly recommend the purchase of this gun vice. I snapped in my heavy .338 Lapua mag. and the vice held this massive rifle straight and true with no wobble. Again leveling was easy. Not good. Impossible to level. The bolts are so loose in the frame they slip and slop around. The frame itself is not straight. You can stand at the front of the unit and eyeball the problem. The front and rear of the unit are not properly centered. You could use it for cleaning but never for mounting a scope. I spoke to a rep who e mailed me requesting pics and proof of purchase which I sent and am now awaiting a reply. He was beyond excited as this is the best vise he could have received! The excitement was short lived as when he assembled the vise it was missing a crucial piece. I want to say that this was NOT a manufacturing mistake as this was possibly a used item because the box was badly damaged when I bought it. I contacted the company only needing to purchase the missing piece. The email I received back was quick within 48 hours, asking for a picture of the assembled unit so they could verify what part was missing. A couple days later I received another email stating the replacement part would arrive in 5-7 business days. The package is here, and to our surprise, the replacement was an entire new vise. The screw that holds the gun clamp handle is stripped/broken. I e-mailed BTI Brands sales, as instructed by the owners manual, and as of this date, have not received a response. I sent a customer service request through Tipton and have not received a response. I attempted to contact them by phone and was put on hold (I don't have the time or patience to be placed on hold). So far, my customer service experience has been terrible. This is probably because the vise was not packaged well (just the regular box with no outer shipping box for protection). As requested in the manual, I called Tipton and sent a picture of the broken part. The person that I spoke with said that a new clamp to replace the broken one would be sent to me. Within a few days, I received a WHOLE NEW VISE! Now that is rather unbelievable customer service. I only gave the vise four stars since I have not yet had a chance to use it much.
