It is on the heavier side of things but the glass quality, magnification, durability, windage/elevation adjustment and price point more than make up for that in my eyes, especially considering the rifle doesn't weight too much to begin with. I have been considering buying another to put on a 22lr for longer range prairie dog shoots.
