Women's Korkers Buckskin Mary™ Fly Fishing Wading Boots

The trip involved a lot of walking to find the fish. Unfortunately these boots crippled my wife. Just above the heel is a black plastic stiffener (if you look at a picture of the boots, it's the plastic material with the white Korkers logo) that does not flex with the rest of the boot. As a result it bruised my wife's ankle so badly she had to take off the boots and walk in her socks to get back to our dugout canoe. She had to finish in tennis shoes the rest of the week, and even then her ankle was very sore from the damage these boots did. They were the right size, and seemed OK walking around our house before the trip, but once she had to put miles on them (we walked 12K-18K steps/day) they caused excruciating pain. I finally settled on the Buckskin Mary and I couldn't be more happy. My feet are long and narrow with a high arch, I prefer the lace up as it was more comfortable. I've fished in these boots for a year, in all types of conditions. Buy the boots. \n\nThe interchangeable bottoms are amazing and they are so easy to snap on and off. Be mindful, though, the rubber sole (meant for trekking, not wading) is slick as anything in the river (which is the whole point of being able to swap the bottom out). The women's fit is so much less clunky, and they are comfy enough to wear several miles in the backcountry, which we do often. I have seen almost zero wear on both soles options in the couple of months that I have had them. Korkers is changing the game! Love. These. Boots! Once you get the size worked out, they are beauties.\nFor the new angler they are particularly wonderful.\n\nAccessibility: they are expensive but no more than a good hiking boot, so the price makes them accessible. They are easy to figure out, even the extra soles, so they are accessible from a knowledge point of view.\nUtility: they do what they are designed to do--give you sticky feet on the waterways. The soles work beautifully, and the boot laces up tight and snug. Ankles are protected, feet are happy. They are useful, and easy to use. They give a quality experience, and are a good quality boot.\nElegance: I feel beautiful in these boots, and the boots themselves are beautiful and elegant with the blue piping and the striker grey (matches the Simms waders). They are a beautiful boot, and you'll get glances of envy when you wear them. They are comfortable and lightweight. I find them easy to put on and take off. I love the interchangeable soles especially since places like Yellowstone are no longer allowing felt soles. What I would like to see in future models would be a D ring or something near the toe of the boot to attach my wader cuff.
