I saw that these boots use “waterproof materials” and did not specify animal leather like many of Sorel’s other boots. Just to be sure, I contacted customer service chat and had to ask three times whether this specific style uses any animal materials. (The first two times I asked they told me that some Sorel products are vegan and some are not. I asked if I was speaking to an actual human and they said yes.) I didn’t notice until after I wore them a few times that the material sticker on the inside of the tongue says there’s animal leather in the upper material. I needed a boot to keep my feet warm and dry when I walk my dog, run errands, etc. But I didn't need super heavy duty boot to shovel snow in. I chose this because I liked that the shaft wasn't too high, so I could still wear it with most of my pants. \n\nWe just had a winter storm. The snow was deep enough that it covered my entire boot and yet they kept my feet SUPER warm and I didn't feel slippery when walking on ice. The waterproof material kept my feet dry, and they are also SUPER CUTE! I am a true 7.5 (according to the size chart; my feet are 24 cm), but I still ordered a size 8 based on reviews saying it ran small, and I think I made the right decision.
