I got it on a recommendation of a YouTube chef ( Chef Tom at All Things BBQ!) for adding MORE smoke to my pellet smoker when making Kansas City Burnt Ends! Life is easier if you have a propane torch to light it with - lying on its side. Pellets burned down the tube for about 4 hours! I think a few of my best friends are getting one an a bag of pellets for christmas! No reason you can't stick this thing in a regular charcoal or gas grill ( keep it off the flames ) to add a big wood smoked flavor to your food. IF your grilling is done before the pellets burn down, well, think about what you're going to do with a metal tube of burning pellets. I suppose you could just leave it on the grill....
