I tested them after receipt and they did get very warm, which was great. My disappointment was that the rechargeable batteries (from Amazon) that I put in them were a bit too big for the battery case and made it so that the cover wouldn't snap shut correctly. When I put non-rechargeable Duracell batteries in, they were snug but the cover would close. Apparently, the inexpensive rechargeables that I bought are slightly wider than they should be; however, it would be nice if there was more room in the case so it didn't feel like I was forcing the batteries into place. The downsides- First, standard AA batteries don’t hold up to cold temps for more than an hour. In warmer temps, the batteries only last for 2 days. Second, the fit. For context I wear size 9 women’s boots, standard width. I have never needed a wide calf boot. These socks however are NARROW calf. Maybe it’s because I tried to pull them over my base layer leggings but they are far too tight to pull up, I have to resort to wearing them scrunched down to my ankle. That's assuming you use them for six hours a day, for two weeks. Which would be a cost of only $2.00 a day for batteries. As for performance, they work super!
