The first two are older models designed for runners and have been good for camping but lack modes and aren't particularly powerful. I bought this one for hunting. It is so much nicer than our other two. All of the different modes work very well and as expected. It is also incredibly bright when you need it. Great brightness and easily dimmable multi color lights. Now for the bad part. . . . . the pivot hinge on the back of the headlamp to adjust angle of light breaks super easily. Black Diamon used to do phone returns and now have a system that makes it all but impossible to get a return done.
