Today 9/12/2025 our dog choked to death from one of these balls. We have always bought these balls as it’s something that lasts longer for our Shepard’s. This morning we went through our same routine he had the ball and then suddenly he was gagging and foaming bad at his mouth, that is when i realized he had the ball lodged in his throat. It was lodge to the point we were unable to get it out. we couldn’t get it out the police couldn’t get it out and he passed. It was too late. Years Chuckit was our go to chew ball. I don’t know what happened but in the last year the product quality is not the same. I don’t know if it’s a different compound of rubber or what, but she went from destroying one every two weeks now, she can tear through one in 30 to 60 minutes. We buy the bucket of ChuckIts. But I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with my most recent Chuckit Ultra ball. It has begun to split across the seam. My dogs are not chewers. We had a fun time for about an hour before the ball \"popped\" where the blue meets the orange section. Our dog was then able to pull a nickel size hole in the ball. We are really disappointed in this version. We had an old one a neighbor gave us which is still going strong.
