The gripper is engineered convex which does not fit a concave outer tree shape except for a very small area. On top of that, the platform rolls when you try to lean either way because of the convex shape. I almost fell from the platform...very unsafe!. Fill big enough for my feet and sturdy. It grips the tree really well. Doesn't move when I swing left to right. It already broke all the teeth from one side of the platform. I’m trying to investigate any kind of warranty it has but it’s been almost a year since I bough it. Pretty disappointing to only use it a few times and it already break. I only weigh 190 so I’m well under the max it’s rated for. Also the shape of the top bracket is convex instead of concave. It would be more stable if that were concave. For that price I think it was a good buy, but not for the listed price here. The top bracket is shaped completely backwards, it makes no sense. Instead of being a crescent shape to form around the tree, it is bent the other way. So, the top bracket will only even make contact with the tree on the middle two teeth. It will never, no matter the size of the tree, make contact with more than those teeth. Any Youtube video covering this product will show you this mind boggling design flaw.\r\n\r\nI have a ton of trouble getting this thing to hold tight when putting significant side pressure on it. No matter how tight I get the straps and how snug I cam it down, the top almost always pulls away from the tree. I'm sure this contributes to the kick out.\r\n\r\nPros: Inexpensive. Light weight. Platform shape/size.\r\nCons: Side pressure stability.
