{"reviews":[{"id":6587369,"locale":"en_US","rating":3,"title":"Decent but not great","text":"The Explore uses the same transducer as the Solix/Apex which could be fine, but the connection for it is the older style with lots of pins vs the newer Helix quick connect type of connection. On first attempt to connect it, a pin was bent and attempting to bend it back resulted in it breaking. I contacted Hummingbird and they went through an RMA with me immediately. I'm not a noob, I've had several finders in the past. This thing was weak and I didn't force it at all. I suspect it was defective or could be that's just how they are? Hummingbird didn't ask any questions and promptly will exchange the transducer for free, which is great, but would've been nice not to have it happen in the first place. If you stay at resorts or dock at public docks and like to remove your head units at the end of the day, you would be better off with a Helix. \n\nAlso, the visible screens size on the 10 seems smaller than the Helix. The resolution is better, but there's a lot of frame area and the actual screen seems small. For $2300 it feels kind of cheap. \n\nThat all said, I was able to use the Explore with the busted pin (it was one of the DI sources). The SI, maps and regular sonar were all good and the picture quality is excellent.
