I’ve had it happen to 3-4 pairs. The material used for under the boot is tough as nails but the stitch is the weak point on the sides . The crispis didn’t come close to these, as far as quality goes, considering I broke the calf strap on the crispis within a week of hunting in the snow. I think I had my first pair of kennetrek gaiters for 8 years and put who knows how many miles on them before I completely wore them out. I doubt I will try another gaiter
