The fabric is soft, lightweight and of good quality. My son does say he gets cold wearing them outside, but for context we do live in Washington and he isn't \"training\" when he wears them. My son is 4'11\" and the shorts fall about an inch above the knee cap, which he likes. Another thing he likes about the shorts is the waist. He says he can't really feel the elastic band, but also doesn't worry about them falling during activity.\n\nThe design is fairly basic with a few seems, likely built for strength. My son is very into brand name items and wishes the Nike swoosh was a tad bit bigger. He also commented that he likes the pockets, but wishes they were a tad bit bigger to hold his iPhone, but I think it fits his phone just fine. \n\nThe fabric of the shorts is nice and soft. I think my son doesn't understand why the fabric is so thin despite explaining to him they are designed for training. Despite the thinness, the fabric feels strong and has really cool built in ventilation on the side seems for training.
