It needs a re-design. I ended up taking a carabiner and clipping it to the loop of the handle. Others here have the same issue. If there was a solution, Kurgo should post the answer instead of responding and asking people to call them. We make sure there are a couple of extra bags off the roll in case the roll ends without warning. They worked great for about a year until the straps that hold them tight to the leash failed. The velcro style straps don’t stay stuck to each other. We don’t take them off excessively or treat them too roughly so not sure why the straps don’t stay closed any more. To keep one of them functional, I had to sew new Velcro onto the straps. Every time I want a bag, I have to unzip the bag and find the end of the roll and pull one off. It's different from other bags that have a port to pull from without having to unzip. It can attach to rope or flat leashes.
