I wear these for construction and paving. They hold up well against diesel and concrete. Plus the inner layer keeps you warm against moist conditions they won’t replace your rain gear, but will hold up against a lightly rainy day. But the plus side too these to rain gear is when you get hot is those inner side vents, make these pants super breathable with the front pockets doing the same thing. I’m really glad I purchase these for my work gear. I’ve had these pants for 2 seasons now worn super repetitively. Most of the wear and tear have been in the normal spots such as crouch area and knees. Due too excessive abuse from the ground. Wear a belt to save crouch area from wearing out due to stretching the seems. I highly recommend these, also seem to do well against chop saw sparks. There no welding pants though, but slight metal cutting these will do just fine. Another big plus are pockets definitely a big thumbs up for me for how roomy that are.\nSo if your blue collar outdoor person who works in the rain highly recommend, and for cooler days get the relaxed fit. The small fit me perfectly, with plenty of room in waist and thighs, length if spot on as well. I was looking for something more like a pair of Burton or Helley Hansen, as I have a HH jacket—but after searching these were my only option for purchase in a pinch and I was more than satisfied with the warmth and quality once I tried them on, feeling confident that they would last at least a season of 30+ days on the slopes, most likely for years to come. I bought the black, thinking it would help keep me warmer on overcast/colder days when I’d need a dark color for extra warmth. I tried these on in the fitting room and felt a tad sweaty after just a few brief moments, questioning whether I’d even need a base layer, as they are lined with a very soft inner layer. A belt is needed for comfort as they are just barely not too big on my waist, but most Large gear has been tight and not given me room to move. Baggy without snowboard boots on, so I just cuff them once with regular shoes while not riding. Very moisture repellent and surprisingly warm for a shell.
