I've had a pair of these for 5 years. The heels are worn there are a few holes and most of the padding is gone I absolutely love them. I plan on buying a new pair soon but I say they're great if you take care of them and I sure have gotten my money's worth! Absolutely love them and will always reccomend!
I have been wearing these for just about three years. I am a officer out in Detroit so you can count on me when I say they have taken some abuse. Only issues I just started having is with zipper falling off the tracks and the stitching on the zipper tracks coming loose. Rather then buy a new pair I took it to a Cobbler and got it fixed for 25 bucks. Great boots for high speed cats and built for comfort for officers just standing at a detail. Highly recommend buying these boots.
These are my second pair. Technically my first because my first were the low top with no zipper. The insole that comes with the boots make them so comfortable. My first pair still work great but are beat up from work.
This is my 3rd pair of the 8 inch kinetic side zip. They only last me about 15 months before I replace them due to my job. It is a very good boot, but the leather does not hold a shine for very long. I recommend them if you don't need to keep them shined. They are light weight and easy to run in.
Reviews are opinions and we know the old saying, However, this particular pair of boots have been worth my time to chime in. I have worn these boots more than the average, the side zip makes it easy. They are very comfortable and I have had no problems and after a year of almost daily wear, these boots are finally starting to break at the sole.
I used to wear the Danner Acadia 8 inch boots. They were very comfortable for extended periods of standing but a little difficult to run in if need be. I switched to the Kinetic 8 inch side zipper...it was comfortable and lightweight. Better for running but very slippery on wet pavement. The zipper isn't that good on the Kinetic. It started getting difficult to unzip the boots after 3 months. The top three eyelets cut through my laces within 5 months. I liked the boot overall but will be switching back to the Acadia 8 inch. The price on the Kinetic was much less than the Acadia but the Acadia is a much better quality boot in my opinion.
These boots are by far the most comfortable boots I have ever purchased, they are not only comfortable when you stand in them, but when you walk it gives you some type of spring to it, and the break in period was very short. The one major thing I hate and the reason I will never buy these specific ones (maybe buy the one without the zipper), is that the Zipper becomes undone, sometimes without you even knowing it. There should be some type of strap or Velcro securing the zipper from going down.
Love the boots, but zipper broke, someone cut corners
It's a great boot for those with a bum foot. I can't wear most boots, but this one works. My biggest problem is getting in and out of other boots, but it's great with these boots. I would recommend if there was some sort of warranty on zipper.
I am a CO and often spend many hours on my feet. I was wearing Bates boots before doing a lot of research on the Danner Kinetic boot. I found with the Bates my feet would hurt after only a couple hours. However, with the Danner Kinetic my feet are comfortable all day. The Danner boots remind me of a running sneaker, they are light but provide a lot of support. Also the Kinetic boot transitions great into a full run from a still position. I am extremely satisfied with this product and would not hesitate to buy them again or recommend them to a friend!
I have had a pair of these for over 2 years as a Patrolman, best boots that I have ever had to date. They are high quality made boots, durable, well made and break in very nicely. Amazing in harsh conditions, and the fit is more like a sneaker than a boot. I've ran in these boots quite a few times and I was very impressed. Priced high, but you pay for what your get and you will not be disappointed. The laces, zipper and soles have never given me a problem.
Use this boot about 65 hours or more a week, boot is great, comfortable, durable, but it needs to be able to breath more. Your feet will get to hot and sweat like crazy. I've gone through 3 pairs of insoles, granted I'm always on my feet, but they turn to trash quick if you don't pull them and air your boot.
I wore a set of these daily for about six months. The zipper on one failed completely, and the other was close. There was plenty of tread left, and I think they would have been good for an additional 3-4 months if the zippers hadn't failed. A better and heavier-duty (brass?) zipper would have made the design much better. The one they use has very fine teeth, which seems prone to failure.
Had boot less than 6 months. Boot was great for that time until the zipper got funky. It would not zip up unless I played with the teeth. Zipper finally failed as I was putting it on to go to work. Zipper came of one whole side of teeth and I was unable to do anything about it. Had to scramble to figure out what to wear. Got lucky (laziness paid off) and found an old pair off duty boots. Will be wearing them until I can replace my broken pair. Not sure if I would buy Danner again.
Great boot with one major problem. there needs to be a leather strap or thicker nylon running from the heal of the boot to the top. the nylon pushes down, bunches up and rubs on my achilles tendon. very uncomfortable
I have had these boots for about a month and there a great boot for the most part. Great fit, craftsmanship & weight. My only complaint is that the back of the nylon upper is not leather reinforced. Because of this it pushes down in the back and digs in just above my heal where the leather heal cup ends and where the nylon starts. I'm in the military I bought these for personal use to tryout the brand before buying duty boots. With the fit & craftsmanship I think I will buy a par for duty but will look for a pair with at least a strip of leather running up the back.
