I took these boots on a week-long sheep hunt in Alaska. They performed admirably despite their lighter construction. The conditions waterlogged the boots for the whole trip but the stitching lasted and the sole stayed attached. The insole is open cell foam and can be wrung out easily. The rubber is soft and had noticeably excellent traction on grassy slopes. The lugs are short so they didn't have as good of traction in mud. The sole is flexible which made long walks very comfortable but took a little more lower leg muscle on steep slopes and you can feel the rock more than a stiffer boot. I was not able to try them out under heavy load. I had zero blisters on this trip. All in all, these boots felt comfortable, agile, held together, fit true to Danner sizing, and may have enough life for another hunt. I am very happy with this purchase.
I am a brannock size 12D. I ordered 12D and the fit slightly on the small side. A 12.5D would be perfect but for some reason most companies don’t make shoes in 12.5D. The difference between 12D and 13D with these shoes is HUGE. In the 12D the foot is mostly comfortable but is a little con the cramped and short side. In the 13 it’s much more comfortable but a bit too much room. I’m still trying to decide which size is right for me! The suggestion to size down is odd to me as the boot does fit slightly wide, which is good for wider feet, but to size down in length doesn’t seem right. My foot would surely not fit in an 11.5D. I suppose one’s mileage may vary.
I’m a female 8W, ordered men’s 7 reg and they fit perfect. Love the style, amazing comfort, no blisters or overheating, lightweight, dry, and durable thus far! So glad I had them up in the bwca with me. Best hiking shoes I’ve had
My last pair of Danner boots had defective glue and they fell apart. Out of warranty, so not covered. Danner gave me 30% off my current boots which are doing well.

My first impressions on the boot were pretty good! They look nice and are quite light compared to other boots I have, and they felt great on the feet straight out of the box.
After owning my pair for a few weeks, hiking around, they are extremely comfortable and were great for a 10 mile day hike with elevation. I would definitely recommend!
Very good shoes, I am hard to fit so they aren't perfect but I have inserted orthotics. I wish the ankle rise were an inch or two higher, as well. These are just my personal preferences.
I’ve hiked about 400 miles over trails and on urban streets over a year+. Only footwear for 35 days hiking Via Francigena. Surprisingly little wear on sole or otherwise. Great boots for a broad range of weather and underfoot conditions. Got Rain? Count your Blessings! Got Cobblestones? No Problem! Got Wet Clay? Keep on Truckin. Relatively light yet very supportive and cushioning. Adequate to Good moisture ventilation begins to be overwhelmed in Desert or high heat environs. High quality leather loves to be oiled and cared for and gives these boots a timeless look. This is a quality boot designed by experienced folks in the know about hardscrabble stuff. Very good materials and workmanship. Great boots, got 3 pair.
These shoes are great. I have a low volume size 13 foot and have never before found a boot where the laces did not pull completely together before they were tight enough. I also have a pair of Mountain Lights that I recently had resoled but these Mountain 600's are a much better fit and so comfortable. I only wish they could be resoled when the soles wear smooth. I will see how they hold up over time but I am hopeful the Danner brand name still means they will last. I am tempted to buy a second pair right now just in case they become unavailable in the future.
Excellent full-leather boot. Lightweight and minimal break in time. Last winter I purchased the insulated version of this boot and they exceeded expectations in warmth and comfort hiking in snowy NH winter. These newest un-insulated boots will be used in the shoulder-seasons or when doing trail work when waterproofness or more support is is preferred over the summertime trail runners. I have worn wide-toe-box Altras for several years now and while these Danner boots are not that shape, the lacing system comes down low towards the toes allowing me to let the forefoot flex more and still tighten the heel and rear of the boot.
Great comfortable boots. Not sure how long they will hold up, but they seem like they should for a while. I am a landscaper and walk about 8 miles a day in them and they seem pretty solid after a month.
I bought these boots to wear for work. I buy cars at wholesale auto auctions all over the country and am on my feet on concrete often. The foot bed is better than I expected. I have had my knees replaced and they often get sore at the end of the day. Since I bought these boots I haven't had those problems. I feel great Thanks for the quality
Comfortable, light, good grip. After 2 weeks daily hiking use, exterior leather is scuffed, dirty, does not look like it will hold up beyond one season.
So comfortable, love the look, the laces, so light. One of the top metal loops for one boots was bent or wasn’t bent in enough to hold the lace. I gently bent it into place but just one small detail that wasn’t quite right. But other than that LOVE the boots and a very satisfied customer.
Just recently received these hiking boots. I haven't used them enough at this point to provide a full review. Boots seem to have very good quality and fit perfectly.
I got these boots as a gift, they were/are amazingly comfortable. They were my first pair of Danner boots and I’m buying a different style today. They were great for a while, I conditioned them and kept them clean as I could. As others pointed out the boot was not made for rough trails or intensive expeditions. I live in NM and have taken these out many times on many terrains and weather conditions. They were comfortable, cool and supportive all the time. Then the vertical seams began to rip. They have not been the same, I still wear them as they are still comfortable, just not as good at protection from the terrain and elements. I will buy Danner boots again because of terrain grip and how comfortable and supportive they are. Just not any with vertical stitching or perhaps a wider footbed.
I’m a UPS driver, it’s all about comfortable good looking footwear for us. So far so good! Only one con for me and it’s that my feet sweat a little more than other brand boots. May be due to the Danner Dry. Overall I’m impressed!
Boots are very comfortable. The color of the leather is not even remotely close to the color in the picture. I was expecting a brown boot and it’s actually a mustard color.
Great boots all the way around. Comfortable, look fantastic, and well made from high quality materials. Fit is fantastic. Very spacious toe box for a size 13 2E foot in the size 13 W model. I have six pairs of Danner 600’s in different colors and wear them often in good weather and bad. You can walk all day in these boots in the city or on the trail. Not inexpensive but worth every cent.
