Over ten years ago, we released the very first Quarry work boot. Since then, it has become a staple for workers around the country. And now, for the first time, we've brought manufacturing of the Quarry, using imported parts, to our Portland, Oregon, factory, at the same time making major improvements to its comfort and durability.

These are the best boots ever. I've been wearing them since 2002. I walk hundreds of miles a year for work. I replace them every couple of years - but there is no break in time and they provide great support for my feet. I hope Danner never discontinues Quarry style because I would be lost without them.
Not that these need another review but I felt compelled to add mine to the stack...I had an upcoming, two-day logger certification course out in the woods of the Adirondacks in July and knew my knee-high, rubber chainsaw boots would be deadly after 10-12 hours of wear. I knew I wanted an American made and finally settled on the Quarry steel-toe, getting them in just in time for some break-in. I just got home from the two-day trip, where it rained ALL DAY the second day of the training and my feet stayed dry, my footing was solid and I never felt uncomfortable. Un-believable.
My new Quarry boots arrived a couple weeks ago, since then I have worn them daily. They have been comfortable during a variety of trail building, carpentry, and landscaping projects. Keep my feet dry and even in the Georgia heat they aren’t too hot. I was looking for a leather, waterproof boot with heavy treads for outdoor work, made in the US. I’m hopeful that they hold up well and I can take advantage of re-crafting when needed. So far I really like them and would recommend.
These boots are amazing!! I’ve had them for 5 years now. I’ve used these boots for everything I’ve needed shoes for. Raised cattle, climbing power poles, digging ditches, etc.. I’m going to buy another pair once these fall apart (which will be a while). I’ve had to replace the laces once but other than that, I’ve done nothing to them other than oil them. Definitely the most comfortable and light boots I’ve owned. Props to danner with these boots, they’re tough as hell!
Great all around boot with right out of the box comfort. The leather is extremely tough. I am a landscaper so my boots take a lot of abuse. They are the only boot I've ever worn that last a whole season.
These boots are amazing! After a day or two of break in, these are incredibly comfortable. Working outside during the first few days of Michigan winters has never been more comfortable. Perfectly waterproof, perfectly warm, perfect grip.
I typically order wide boots. These are very roomy. I could’ve actually gone with standard sizing, but I’m not wearing thick socks.
Great quality overall. Will buy a different style next time since I anticipate not needing to replace this pair for many years to come.
I’ve been wearing Danner boots for over ten years .They have been a good light weight durable boot. This last pair not so much.I had to go out and buy a $40.00 pair of in soles to make them comfortable to wear.
Like a pair of slippers for working in. I usually order mine a half size big to give me more toe room. A Danner rep helped me with sizing years ago.
I just took these lightly broke in boots for a 4 mile hunting trek through 4-6 inches of snow over very uneven terrain (lose basalt rocks and sage brush). Other than sore legs, my feet couldn't be happier.
Best boots I’ve ever owned and the only boots I will buy for work. They fit my feet perfectly. Only wish I could figure out how to care for the leather better so I could get more years out of them. I am out in the wet and muddy PNW winters wearing them for landscaping which is pretty hard on them.
I have had problems with my feet for most of my life. I spent many years climbing power poles and through the years i have worn about every brand of boot that has been made. For the past 10-15 years, nearly every boot that i have purchased feels good for about 2 weeks then starts killing my feet. About 5 years ago, i discovered the Danner Gritstones and was thrilled to find that they felt the same throughout the life of the boot. We now run a cattle ranch and I am extremely hard on all of my clothing, including boots. Welding one day, fencing the next day, down in the bottom of a muddy ditch the next day, etc. I can't say that i have had a problem free experience with the Gritstones but Danner has stood behind thier product 100%. A couple of years ago, when they closed out the Gritstone line, the representative informed that the Quarry was built on the same platform, so i switched to them. Danner's 1 year warrenty is absolutly great, but for whatever reason the boots seem to last me 12-16 months, no matter what i do, trying to take care of them. This didn't used to be a problem years ago, as i had many boots that were re-soled many times. We had a good friend that has been in the boot business for 40 years tell me that it has to do with the leather tanning process now verses then. It looks to me like a company like Danner would strive to correct whatever that issue is, as you are building a great product. I just feel that they should last much longer than they do. Bill Newman
Boots fit great and feel great. Leather is holding up well. I’ve worked in the rain a lot and they keep my feet nice and dry. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the bottom is wearing out quick, but to be fair I walk on rocks all day and I haven’t found a boot yet that doesn’t wear out quickly on the rocks.
I’m a heavy equipment operator. I’m constantly climbing up and down the equipment and hiking around everywhere on the job site. Recently I wore my Danner Quarry boots running fire dozer on two separate California’s fires- River Fire and Dolan Fire. After working 7 days a week/ 14-18 hour days my Danner Quarry boots not only met but exceeded my needs for comfort and durability. Thank you Danner!! Tim Ericksen
The only thing I would change is the angle of the heel. The 90 degrees heal is good for equipment operation but I'm retired now and mostly walk around. I figure the heal will wear in accordingly, if not I can have the angle ground down. I love the boot!
I am a management forester in the US South and average walking 2-3 miles/day. These boots have performed great. They feel like a tennis shoe on my feet and are holding up very well to an abusive environment - briars, vines, etc. I have 2 pair and plan to stay with this boot.
Tough. Takes a while to break in. Runs small. Order a half size larger. Traction is good. Would like to see Danner add a toe guard in the future. Comfortable insole but flattens a bit after all day use. Overall, I like them.
