My 3rd pair. Have had 2 other pairs of "big name" boots since my last pair of Danner Quarry. I won't be making that mistake EVER again. These are the best fitting and most durable / long lasting boots money can buy. Worth every cent. *disclaimer - I have never received any compensation for my unbiased opinion of Danner products. On the contrary, I've paid for that privilege three times and counting.
I bought 3 pair of Danner Quarrry last month One left shoe was heavily dented and scraped, and another left shoe was built rotated so the outside set of eyelets set in front of inside set of eyelets causing a crash of small toe into side of shoe and a pinch point almost in the center of the boot. I haven't worn the third pair yet. Usually great boots but quality control seems to have changed.
I work for a broadband company, so my days consist of both indoors and outdoors work. Took me 26 years to find Danner, but I’ll never switch again. 9 years strong and I’ve never been let down!! Thank you Danner!
So far the boots are everything I would expect from a good work boot. Run a half size smaller than what I normally wear and are a little heavier than the hunt boots. Also a little more narrow than I’m used to. No break in time and no hot spots though. I’m a freight conductor so I spend a lot of time on my feet walking in all conditions. Waterproofing is good and I think these boots will last several years especially with the recrafting option. I’m pleased with my purchase. Third pair of Danners I’ve bought and I believe I will continue to be a Danner fan years to come.
My first reaction upon putting them on was Ahhhh! I have tried many different manufacturers of boots only to have my feet still hurt. Truly fantastic! I experienced no hotspots or spots where there was excessive rubbing or pressure points. I didn’t realize it could be so easy to break in a pair of boots. On top of all of that they look great!
This is a very comfortable boot, especially compared to my other work boots. I did add a different insole that suits my taste but that is just a personal preference. I do wish that these weren't a suede finish but more of an oiled leather. Time will tell with the durability.
Only downside is the lace hooks on the top of the laces...The hooks hang up on ladders and materials at times making them a tripping hazzard.Regular holes or triangular closed loops would be much better.
These are awesome. Probably my top three pairs of boots I have ever owned. Can’t give them a five star review until I wear them for a while first. But so far great. Fit is true to size unlike the wolverine’s.
I purchased these boots for my son for use as a work boot, he loves them. He reports they have required little to no break in time, and are very comfortable. He wears a 9 1/2 D which is what I ordered, and the size was spot on.
These boots are a 10! The design and comfort have come a long way...had no break in period for me, and the new foot bed had incredible arch support. Color of distressed rally looked aged and distressed. Has become my everyday shoe even on the weekends. I have a wide foot and the EE gave me more than enough room. Was not sloppy wide.
This is a good boot but it’s not as comfortable as the Justin boots that I was wearing before I purchased these...if I could make a change it would be to not have the laces so far down on the toe of the boot, I do a lot of squatting and kneeling in my job and this particular boot is not great for that...the Gore-Tex has held up well and kept my feet dry,Gore-Tex is a must in my job, I will not purchase a boot without it, this was the number one reason I bought these boots to begin with. Overall this is a good boot but just needs a few tweaks for me personally.
I love Danner boots. I have two other working pair and one I just retired after 15 years of use. No other boots come close. Well built, well designed, very comfortable and fit nicely. The only problem I have with these Quarry boots is that I cannot properly seat my heel; an arch support (or orthotic) might help (none was provided) and I haven't tried one yet, but trying to push the tongue down didn't work - my foot is just a bit loose. Still, it is a great pair of boots and definitely better than any others I've tried.
Great quality, perfect fit, and high quality leather. The current Vibram sole is what should be on a work boot. I have used other work boots in the past with too soft of a Vibram sole and they didn't last me more than 3 months. My only wish is that there were more detailed instructions to care for the leather
