Great boots but ended up with a squeak that I can't get rid of
I loved these boots, wore them everywhere in every season. Super comfortable and very stylish. About a year in though the developed an annoying squeak in the soul of the toe when I walk. The squeak is so loud I can't wear these boots any more, which is a shame because the uppers are fine. If you like throwing things away after 1 year then I would give them 5 stars, but due to the price and the materials used I would expect more so 1 star from me.
I have three pairs of boots. All say danner and this pair is no different then the rest. Very comfortable and will become my new everyday pair. Just spent 12 hours roofing this past weekend and my feet felt great
My husband absolutely loves his new shoes!! He said they are very comfortable and are now his go to shoes pretty much each day!! They are so versatile so he is able to wear them for both work and on his days off.
I really had my eye on the light brown versions, but I was trying to fill a whole in my boot lineup with the black Vertigos. These boots are amazing! It took me about two weeks before I HAD to order the light brown version of the Vertigo 917. Now, I want the Java version of the same boot, but I can't really justify it. These boots fit my foot perfectly and those Vibram souls are super comfy.
Easy to break in and very comfortable. Wore bean boots for years before giving these a try. Their first test was in Steamboat Colorado and they held up well. Kept my feet dry and warm in the snow. Highly recommend so far.
I like these boots. I have a pretty wide foot, and it's unbelievably hard to find a good pair of boots that fit, but I was able to size up one size and make these work. They're light and comfortable, and the little bit of stretch in the ankle means that if you lace them right you don't have to tie and retie to get them on and off, which I like.
Love this boot! Bought right before a 12-day trip to Spain, and I wore it every day. Super comfortable right out of the box! It’s stylish enough for European city trekking, as comfortable as a sneaker, and tread to hold up on some short off-road hikes.
I was unsure about ordering shoes online simply because of the difficulty I’ve had finding the right fit. These 3/4 boots fit beautifully, look sharp, and feel dry and durable. The only thing I’m unsure about it the tongue, which is a bit bulky and stiff, and their edge puts pressure on the ankle. I’m hopeful this will resolve itself and they’ll soften up over the next month or two, as I’m otherwise very happy with these boots.
2nd pair, scientifically proven(by me) to be the best boot of all time.
I've traveled a ton this year and taken them all around the world... I also take the train into work and walk a bit in Seattle, and weather is never an issue as long as my Danners are on my feet. As long as this boot is still made I will buy a new pair every year. Do your feet a favor and buy them.
Well adapted to cold and rugged terrain as well as street wear. Very fashionable for urban and semi casual wear. The ankle area did cause some lateral malleolus bruising initially, otherwise it fits well. Easy on and off with the lateral elastic built along the neck.
Excellent city boot, Size down 1 full size from running shoes
excellent city boot for cold inclement weather. There are better options for hiking. . this boot has very minimal arch support and the insoles are paper thin. Sizing: i wear 12 in all running shoes(Nike, Under Armour, Brooks) 11.5 in all salomon shoes and boots. I wear an 11.0 in this Danner vertigo 917 and it fits well with a little room to spare. The width will accommodate normal to moderately wide feet...... also get a 4 oz tub of Danner brown boot dressing, its really got stuff
Pretty comfortable. The first time I wore them the laces came out of the hooks but if you just tie them tight this is not an issue. Haven’t experienced any rain to see how waterproof they are. Would recommend.
This is my second pair of these boots. First pair I still wear daily for work and they have stood strong. I’m a foreman for a utility company and spend 50ish hours a week on my feet working in all types of conditions. Decided I’d get a second pair to wear as a daily off work boot and they hit the nail on the head there as well! Only issue I have and it’s petty is my first pair came with an extra set of laces and the new ones didn’t :( lol
