Lightweight cotton double faced pants. They are comfortable and a pleasures to wear. As far as keeping briars from puncturing my legs. They are not robust. They are not get in the middle of a briar patch with a pack of beagles type of pants. If your a field walker, they will get soaked in wet grass. Not really a briar pant. More of an open field comfortable pair of pants. Briar and these pants should not be in the same sentence. They are a good fit and very comfortable. Not much for protection unless you hunt plowed dirt fields. I'm going to use them for when I cut firewood. Nice pants. Not for hunting
