But the 2nd trip out with these the clasp at the top to tighten the laces broke cuz it is made of plastic. This is a poor design. I was in the mountains for 9 days so I just wore them any way and just left the top loose. With out the ankle support on that side I rolled my ankle multiple times hiking the mountains and had to cut out part of my hunting trip due to an injured ankle. These would be 4 or 5 star boots had they not been the cause for me to get injured due to the quality of the part of the boot that gives you support. I have worn them on trips to Costco to break them in as I planned on using them for this year's season of 2025. I mean, I have only worn them about 10 times, and the adhesive on the back of the boot is detaching, and it hasn't even been on the field yet. As soon as I tried them on the bootlace clasp at the top snapped in half. This was because they are made of PLASTIC. Horrible design flaw. For the cost of these boots, I am not sure why a formally reputable company would be so cheap and not use metal (and use metal grommets to reinforce the bootlace holes. The glue along the seams was also trash and sloppy. Not something I would expect from Irish Stetter or Red Wing. I took them pheasant hunting in some miserable conditions, rain, mud , and some left over snow. \r\nThese boots could not have performed any better. I was throughly pleased with the overall performance of the boots. Feet stayed warm and dry and had great traction in the muddy woods and fields. Boots also hugged the foot just right so that socks didn’t slide around. Overlooked feature but very valuable.
