But the 2nd trip out with these the clasp at the top to tighten the laces broke cuz it is made of plastic. This is a poor design. I was in the mountains for 9 days so I just wore them any way and just left the top loose. With out the ankle support on that side I rolled my ankle multiple times hiking the mountains and had to cut out part of my hunting trip due to an injured ankle. These would be 4 or 5 star boots had they not been the cause for me to get injured due to the quality of the part of the boot that gives you support. As soon as I tried them on the bootlace clasp at the top snapped in half. This was because they are made of PLASTIC. Horrible design flaw. For the cost of these boots, I am not sure why a formally reputable company would be so cheap and not use metal (and use metal grommets to reinforce the bootlace holes. The glue along the seams was also trash and sloppy. Not something I would expect from Irish Stetter or Red Wing. Boots also hugged the foot just right so that socks didn’t slide around. Overlooked feature but very valuable.
