S. , from the Knobstone Trail in Indiana to Fairytale Falls in Yellowstone, Wyoming. These boots are awesome. I’ve put over 200 miles in them across some pretty rough terrain and they perform well. I like the tread on them, it’s best for dirt/mud, and the waterproofing is great, assuming you don’t go too deep and it comes in from the top. They are very comfortable and I have less issued with getting blisters in these compared to other hiking boots. I prefer the low Target II’s over the Targhee IV’s. The only issue I've had with this model is some minor tread issues. They are the most comfortable shoes I've had and they are hard to wear out. They've handled long distant hikes over rocky trails above tree line to everyday walks on sandy beaches and pavement. They get wet and my feet stay dry as long as I don't completely submerge them and if I do they are still comfortable to hike in. They are my everyday all day shoe. It is perfect for day hikes, and provides excellent traction on scrambles and slippery ground. The waterproofing is excellent, my feet never got wet walking through puddles or shallow streams. This shoe is great except for one thing, and to me, it's a deal breaker: after less than a year of moderate wear, the sole began separating from the midsole. This happened with both shoes in the mid foot, the heel and even a little on the forefoot. I've had to shoo goo these soles several times and I'm about ready to cut my loses and get another pair. It's almost as if Keen has a planned obsolescence strategy.
