Whether you hike or hunt in warmer climes, here or abroad, the Safari is like buying two boots in one. Although they'll be your go-to early season or desert boot, they'll quickly become your first choice around town. The durable 2.5mm full grain leather uppers have a Cambrelle lining that breathes, wicks, and keeps you from overheating. And the new Django outsole pads your every step and grips just about any surface you'll encounter from rocky ascents to slippery sidewalks. We've added extra-padded soft collars and a flex notch upper design to bring slipper comfort to an incredibly durable boot. Made in Italy. 3.6 lbs.
7" tall 2.5mm thick premium full grain leather uppers with one piece vamp construction with no seams down the tongue for abrasion resistance and waterproofness

No waterproof membrane for increased breathability in hot climates
Lightweight Django outsoles provide excellent traction
These really are the perfect boot for warmer climates, yet are still VERY functional and usable down into the 30's. I specifically chose this boot because of it's lack of a moisture barrier membrane so I could have maximum breathability in a warmer environment. Living in NC even our average Winter temps are typically still in the 50's to 60's most days. I've found that any temp above 50F to basically be a no-go for me and boots with a membrane unless I wanted soaked feet regardless of sock choice. I've now worn these boots hiking in temps from the 30's all the way up into the 90's and my feet have stayed dry and comfortable all day!
Although the midsole is only 5mm versus the typical 7mm I still find it more than adequate for nearly all trail conditions. Even with a light pack on you can barely feel tree roots and pointy rocks through the footbeds.
bought these in Feb at the Outdoor show asked to have them stretched (twice). Customer Service was very accommodating. Have worn them for months, for up to 12 hours a day, to ensure a well broken boot - no blisters, hot spots or any uncomfortable spots. took them to South Africa for a August 10 day hunt. In the African Bush wore them 12-14 hours each day and they were great. Lot of thorns but no issues with the boot (The PH had thorns penetrate the sole of his boot). pulled about 20 out of the sole when I got Home. Boots good for stalking Impala. Tearing after Hippo through thorn bush, across streams and tracking Buffalo.
