They were perfect fort the times where the extra layer beyond the base was not necessary. I bought them in mid January 2022 and wore them maybe a dozen times and now at the end of 2022 they have started to rip apart on the backside in a random spot. Not on a seam so it may be a manufacturing defect. Hoped for good things. \r\n\r\nThe material did well at keeping me warm during an unexpectedly snowy elk hunt. As miserable as the conditions were I stayed warm. \r\n\r\nAs much as they excelled at keeping me warm, that was overshadowed by a disappointing lack of durability. By the end of my one week hunt normal use resulted in a hole the size of a baseball. With my other merino baselayer last year I slipped a slid 20 feel down the side of a mountain, with less damage than a trip with no harsh falls. \r\n\r\nI ended up returning them after a week.
