Fit is slightly tight. Bought a large, I'm 6' and 190. Athletic build with 34 in Kuhl pants. Wish it was an inch shorter and a inch wider on sides...but other than that it's a phenomenal piece of outer wear.
let me start by saying I love the fit and feel of the twin zipper design. i have never had a jacket that you can adjust the fit and feel so easily and this thing is warm! here comes the "but" the hood drawstring are in a horrible position. As another person has said they OFTEN stick to the zipper of the jacket and snap back like a whip right to your face! I would recommend some kind of keeper inside of the jacket for them from getting close to the zipper. Other then the countless wets i have received i still love the jacket.
The jacket I will admit is a bit pricey but the quality of the fabric and craftsmanship is superb. It has already stood up to a Boston light rain in around 34 degree condition with just a long sleeve tshirt underneath it. Not sure about how it fares in lower temps with snow however I will say it is a great jacket and I have faith in it to withstand lower temps as well. The style is unmatched, looks very fitted and nice. Would recommend.
Very nice quality but not flexible enough for working in it
if you're going to hike or just wear it around it's great quality and fit for that. I wanted to do actual work in it specifically for brush clearing and wood splitting. It fit me perfectly except it is too fitted through the shoulders. The flexibility to make those chopping motions isn't there. I would have kept it if I just needed a regular jacket.
Love this coat. Great fit. The sleeves are so much more comfortable. I thought this whole 5 panel sleeve thing was a gimmick, but it is actually far more flexible for movement. Very warm. Love the double zipper for when an extra layer is needed. Great purchase!!!
This jacket is brilliant! Love the color (got pirate blue)--jacket fits great, perfect protection from the elements. Lots of compliments -- gave out the 3 KUHL tags to friends who loved the jacket as well (hope they purchase different color, though - lol). KUHL makes the best outdoor clothing-- hands down.
I purchased this jacket as an impulse buy after putting it on and wearing it for a bit in the store. I typically wear a Large in Patagonia, MtnHardware or N Face, but with this brand I had to size up to an XL to get a good fit in the chest cavity. Once on though it fits like a glove and stretches and moves with you. That’s why I bought it. Sized right this jacket can be easily layered under with the secondary zipper really a nice feature. I liked it so much I wore it out of the store and have been wearing it since. I get lots of compliments on it and it’s not like everyone else is wearing one like it either. Great 3 season jacket for Colorado and other Rocky Mtn areas.
Generally love Kuhl pants so decided to jump into the jacket world. Really well constructed, super comfy, hood is amazing. I am 6'1" 185 and the XL fits really well with enough room for a flannel shirt underneath.
High quality, waffled fabric pattern look awesome, I'm a 44 in jacket and purchased an XL, the fit is perfect. Like the two zipper feature to adjust for wearing a heavier top under it for layering. Would highly recommend.
Once you get past the price the design and fit of this jacket are amazing. I like the double zipper for layering and the stretch to the overall coat. It’s a little heavy in weight and a tad bulky as well, but not so much as to be a major issue. I found the sizing to be off a size. I wear a Large in Mountain Hardware, Patagonia and NorthFace but I had to go with an XL with this jacket to get the room under the arm pits and across the chest.
This jacket/hoodie is pricey but the fit and features are all there. I typically wear a (L) in Patagonia, but had to go to an XL to get a perfect fit with this piece. The layering zipper is genius and will make this a go to jacket for sure. I wasn’t in the market for a new jacket but after putting this one it fit so well I couldn’t not pick it up.
Bought a large for my son who is 6’2” 180#. He loves it! Arm and torso length are perfect. Normally we have to buy lg tall but this fit great. It has fleece inside and water resist on the outside but doesn’t feel heavy. We live in Southern Colorado where it gets in the negative double digits and he is comfortable walking to school. It was well worth the money. I’m sure it will last a long time.
The shell and inside lining are really efficient. Some better design could be done for the armpit Stitching: it feels bulky. Also, the hood constricting rubber strings should be positioned differently: they can stick in the zipper lock and hit the face, whan released. Otherwise, I like this hoodie.
I had a jacket similar to this one from a different company for 6 years till it finally started to come apart on me. Since getting the Relik I have worn it every day and love putting it on. It fits perfectly and has so many customizable adjustments built in. This is a jacket I am comfortable taking through the thick brush without worry of getting it ripped to shreds. Also, way warmer than I thought it would be.
This Hoody is outstanding. Great concept of two zippers allows for body expansion to include extra clothing on cold days. Great hood design: keeps neck warm and the hood 'bill' is just right. Not too big or too small. A must for all cold or rainy days!!!!
Well insulated , DWR and smart pockets make this my go to hoodie I bought this one to replace relik hoodie I purchased 6 years ago because it was lost. I have tried many other bonded fleece & soft shell combinations but always come back to KUHL. Dual zipper system is smart design . Faded garment look is no pun intended very cool
Couldn't ask for more. Light weight, but warm and good in the wet weather and snow. More of a slim fit, as are most KUHL. I can wear a fleece vest underneath without a problem when it gets very cold. I like the dyed/broken in look. I agree the sleeves aren't insulated, but that's small potatoes. This is a great jacket you will be happy with.
I love this jacket and it's deceptively warm. I've found myself, unexpectedly, in sub-freezing weather and have been toasty. Sometimes it's a little too-warm for my climate, but that's not Kuhl's fault.
The stitching and attention to detail are excellent. The material is form fitting and stretchy. Overall I really love this jacket.
I have recently had the stitching on the wrist start to come undone. I've contacted KUHL for repair. I don't think it's indicative of the jacket in general, just a flaw on my particular jacket. Keep up the good work, KUHL.
Good: The jacket has a full set of high quality pockets that secure personal belongings. The hoody provides better rain coverage than typical hoody jackets. As with all Kuhl products the stitching, fabric, and attention to details is exceptional. I end up using this jacket regularly due to its versatility for a wide range of weather conditions. It works well in light rain, light snow, and breathable when needed.
Bad: The jacket does tend to fade but does fade gracefully. It is likely to be a charcoal color instead of a solid black color at some point. The arms have less insulation than the rest of the jacket.
