The Men's KUHL Renegade Rock Pants are a versatile option for men on the go. These high-performance hiking pants for men are built with the rugged construction KUHL is famous for. UPF 50 protects you from the sun's harmful rays while you're out on the trail and the water-repellent finish keeps you dry all day long. The articulated knee and gusseted crotch allow maximum freedom of movement so you're never slowed down. These hiking pants feature eight mesh pockets that allow you to store all your tools and essentials for the trail or the day. You'll want to go everywhere in the Men's KUHL Renegade Rock Pants.
I chose to purchase these pants for my hiking in Spring and Summer here in PA. I hike a lot of rocky areas that require me to climb rocks in very abrasive areas. They have been holding up great. I'm 5' 6" and 135 lbs. These fit nice compared to the typical MC Hammer fit of most hiking pants on my figure. They aren't skinny fit but I would say that they are fairly slim. I love their comfort and ability to breath.
I'm a guide and I'm short. It's been impossible for me to find climbing pants that I like the fit of. The combination of the tapered leg and short inseam length options make it so that I can always see my feet and there is no loose material to get caught on things. Very comfortable and stretchy. Jury is out on durability as I haven't owned them for very long but so far they are hands down the best pants for rock climbing that I've ever owned.
...until you compare them with the resistor rock pant. Seems to me that Kuhl had a great, nay, a perfect thing, going with the resistors. Stretch to all get out and durability.
These renegades feel exactly like patagucci RPS pants which have very very little stretch and are definitely not durable. I’d definitely classify these as chinos, not rock pants.
The lack of stretch is really the only thing killing the stars, otherwise this is a very good piece of clothing. Just not a rock climbing pant if you’re even a little bit flexible (read, big high steps, over the head heel hooks, drop knee, etc, these pants ain’t it).
This is my second pair. The first pair I bought at the store in Park City, and the 32 inseam fit perfect. Surprisingly, they shrunk and they are now too short. This time around I purchased the 34 and they run just a bit long but I am happy with them. Love the look and feel!
Love these pants!!! Purchased two pair last summer and purchased two new pair recently. Super comfy fit. Good size pockets for items. Nice size, Easy access to a phone pocket. One set of pants, I rubbed a small hole into from taking a fall onto some rocks but it has yet to grown larger than the small hole. Worn in summer and winter and stayed cool in summer and warm in winter. Overall, best outdoor pant I’ve put on. Hopefully you continue to carry this cut of pant!
The pants fit slim and true to size. They are not as stretchy as say the Deceptr pans that I have as well. They are well made, and the fabric face is smooth so that dog hair does not readily stick to them. I like the side zip pockets for small things. The front pockets are deep enough - I hate shallow front pockets.
Maybe it was my monitor settings, but the color I ordered looked different online than when I received it. Was pretty bummed, then I tried em on. Best pants I have owned, and while the color is not what I was looking for, they fit so well and are such high quality I warmed up to them. Gonna order more pants and shorts for sure.
All Kuhl pants that I've owned are fantastic! I've got proportionally larger legs (overall I'm 6' 180lbs),and even with the tapered legs, the cut works well for me with the ease of movement and lightness of fabric. Wear for anything and everything!
These pants are excellent so far. I use them for hiking, walking, working, shooting classes, etc. They are light but so far have been durable and the shock cord at the hem is a huge help. I am 5'10 180 with a larger than average butt and legs and these are great for me. I've ordered some other Kuhl pants before that were labeled "tapered" and did not seem to be that way. These are definitely a tapered/slimmer fit but still accomodating to those with "athletic" legs. I like them a lot and will be purchasing again.
I liked the Kuhl Renegade Rock Pants so much I bought a 2nd pair, and it turns out they fit exactly the same as the first pair, which is another sign of the quality. I use them for hiking, running, working out and mt Biking. I get a lot of compliments on how they look too, which doesn't hurt my feelings.
After 30 years of living on this earth i found the perfect pair of pants... The taper fit feels amazing, they're stylish and functional at the same time. Whether im biking, hiking or just working in the office these are my go to. Will definitely be copping a few more pairs to come . Should i say it? These pants are pretty" KUHL"...
These pants fit perfect, they nailed the cut when they made these. The thigh/crotch area has enough freedom without being too baggy and the tapper in the lower part of the PABT makes it that perfect fit! Last pair of pants I will ever have to buy.
I love the pants! The pockets are amazing and the material and fit is great! I’m normally a 28x30 but the 28x28 fit me better for this brand! If you buy a pair you will fall in love. There truly are no pants like these
I can't tell you how many different pairs of pants I have gone through looking for one with a fit that I like. Patagonia Quandary pants, Outdoor Research Wadi Rum pants, Marmot Arch Rock pants, and several others just never fit me quite right. I was always in search of something that I could 1. pick the inseam for, instead of just generic short, regular, long options, 2. Had a fit that wasn't baggy, and 3. had enough pockets for things. I am incredibly happy with these on all fronts. I wear a 32x30 in nearly everything and these fit perfect at the waist and inseam length (I'm 5'8" and about 160lb, and athletic). The tapered fit means that there isn't any extra fabric through the calf which I love. Overall, this is an excellent pair of pants. If you're on the fence, I would highly recommend going for it.
Perfect for travel, and outdoor activities. Flexible, great pocket design and locations, and they look terrific. I have been a couple of trips to Mexico and a trip to London with my first pair. they are perfect to ware on the plane and off.
I've currently own 2 pairs of these pants, and they're my favorite as far as fit and appearance goes. I recently ordered a pair of the buckskin khaki colored ones online, and was disappointed to find that they were not the rich, warm tan color I wanted, but instead a colder, washed out mud color. Really too bad, otherwise the review would be a 5. If you want a great pair of pants, pick some up, just beware of misleading color options.
I’m picky when it comes to pants. I was ordering what was natural to me. Came in the perfect size. The pants fit perfect to size. It is a light material with a slight stretch to them to give you a free range of motion. Only setback is maybe a double stitching around the crotch to reinforced the area that is going to receive the most stress. Would I buy again: yes. Would I recommend it to friends: yes.
I have two pair of the normal Renegade pants and I love them, so I figured I’d try out the Renegade rock pants. They are just as comfortable with a few differences that do not take away from the design that makes this series awesome. They have a tapered fit that is a just right and a zippered back pocket. The material and designs make it my favorite outdoor pant whether I am climbing or hiking even a day around the house.
I have several pairs of these pants in different colors I really like the fit and taper of the leg plus the 28 inch inseam for shorter men. Comfortable, with a high UPF rating, and lots of pockets; especially like the one zippered one on the back and two side zipper pockets. Nice feature of being water resistant, too. Highly recommend.
I have 3 pairs of Renegade Rock pants and I love them! I'm 6'5" 250lbs and wear a 38 x 36. They fit fantastic. If I had one small complaint it would be that they are a little low waisted, which is great for fashion but a little bothersome for function if you are going to actually use these for mountaineering. However its not bad enough for me to stop buying them!
