I really liked the color of these and the extremely light weight. They are waterproof w/ Gore-Tex. I usually wear a men’s size 9 so bought these from REI in size 9, but they were a bit snug in the toe so returned and found a 9.5 online at Merrell. This half size up seemed to have a little too much extra room in the toe so was surprised that a half size up would have that much difference. I decided to keep them and while hiking to break them in I had to really tighten the laces to prevent my feet from sliding forward when descending. This fixed the problem. I brought these to Europe with me and really enjoyed having them. They didn’t need a lot of breaking in which was nice. I cannot blame the shoe for my mistake. However, I can say that within 3 months of light use, the sole started to separate from the shoe’s body on both shoes. Now less than 6 months after purchasing one of the eyelets broke. This is all on light use in the office. These boots have never been on a dirt trail. Very disappointed in these boots.
