I have broken one ankle three times and some years ago developed severe backpain which was diagnosed, over a long time, as the result of the ankle breaks resulting in one flat foot and a sagging hip joint. Heal lifts in the one shoe/boot helped raise the hip but it was only after I purchased these Bridger Mid boots did all by back pain cease. The comfort and support of these boots is absolutely perfect. Further, they are one of the very few boots I have ever tried that really prevent heel lift.
