My most recent hiking boots were Keen. I stopped buying those because their quality went downhill quickly. I needed waterproof boots with good grip for hiking in the Appalachian Mountains of East TN and Western NC, so I tried these Oboz. I could tell the sole was extremely stiff when I took them out of the box, but even after wearing them for a couple weeks, it still feels like I have a board strapped to the bottom of my boots. These things don't flex at all! They're also low-volume boots, so it feels like I'm having to jam my foot in them each time I put them on. If I had tried these on at a store instead of buying them online, I wouldn't have purchased them.
