They are extremely packable. Get one size bigger then you think because they run \"small.\" I followed the description and ordered my normal size but it did not fit over my base layers and was too tight for my waist. The sizing is not really an issue because if you order the wrong size, Stone Glacier is great about getting you the right size. My two concerns I have with these pants is a draft I get when wearing them and I had an issue with down coming out. For the draft, I first noticed it when I was wearing them with only boxer briefs underneath. I felt an obvious draft coming in both legs, coming in the full length of the vertical inside seam. I felt the draft during my second time wearing them as well ( I actually was wearing jeans under the down pants). For the feathers coming out, I was riding my horse. I wore the pants for 7 of a 12 mile ride. Down was coming out of the seat. I actually have not worn down pants while riding before so maybe this is a normal, unavoidable issue when riding with down pants on. We were glassing from a north facing slope in single digit temperatures and it was a fairly miserable experience. I finally dug these out of my pack, made a coffee, and was immediately comfortable and able to focus on glassing instead of hypothermia. Absolutely recommend. Built well, astonishingly lightweight, and can be zipped on and off without unlacing my boots. My wife and I spend most of our time on the mountain. We spend hours long sitting and glassing and my wife's legs always get cold so I decided to get these pants for her and she loves them and there is no getting cold now. She said they fit amazing on the hips, thighs and mid section for a women. Who ever designed that did great she said. The customer services is amazing as well I bought too small of a pair the first go around and finally got the right pair hassle free the second time. She is a women 12/14 and the large fit great under and over her hunting pants no problem. I bought the mediums and they fit perfect over a pair of hunting pants. These are amazingly light weight and warm. Between the weight and the size of them compressed in the supplied stuff sack make it easy to stuff in your pack on your hunts. I also just bought a pair of large for when I have extra layers on later season hunting in the mountains. Another great product by Stone Glacier and as always top notch customer service. We have found down hunting pants to be a game-changing piece of gear in adverse conditions. However, many of the products we have used did not pack well or were nearly impossible to take on and off in the field. Thus, they frequently got left at home. We set out to create a pant with a full-length zip that could pack small enough to remain virtually unnoticed in the pack until used. With 850+ fill power, HyperDRY&trade; down insulation and a Pertex&reg; Quantum shell textile these pants provide an unbelievable warmth to weight ratio. Add a real full-length side-zip that can be completely opened up at the waist hem and cuff and you now have a truly functional down insulated bottom. Use these once for a long glassing session on top of the mountain, and you&rsquo;ll never again leave home without them.<br />\n<br />\n<strong>Technology</strong><br />\nPertex&reg; Quantum uses a tightly woven structure to provide a light and soft fabric that allows insulation to fully loft while also being quiet, windproof, lightweight and packable.</p>\n\n<p>Pertex&reg; Y Fuse fabrics use yarns with unique Y shaped filaments. These filaments create a tightly interlocking structure which improves downproof and water beading properties. The interlocking structure of Y Fuse fabrics remains highly stable over extended wash and wear cycles.</p>\n\n<p>Super DWR is a water repellent finish that maintains its high performance through extended wash and wear cycles.</p>\n\n<p>HyperDRY&trade; water-resistant down is treated with a unique fluorocarbon-free treatment that adheres to the down cluster&nbsp;and allows down to retain its superior warmth to weight ratio &mdash; even when wet.<br />\n<br />\nAll down products from Stone Glacier come from an RDS Certified Supplier.
