I work construction all year round. Winters can be hard sometimes. Hate feeling bulky with to many layer of clothing that don’t keep me warm. Having the proper clothing makes all the difference. 4.0 Under Armour are great.
After reading reviews for the NEW 3.0 and 4.0 Base I am NOT going to buy any
I have the 2.0 base layer version and i have been extremely happy with them. I came back to find some more and noticed the new 3.0 and 4.0 versions and decided to read the reviews.... After reading all the reviews and i am going to hold off on any more purchases of this merchandise
Simply the best. I work outside and in the cold it's the only thing you need. I normally would wear bib overalls. To bulky hard to move around in. Put these under your work clothes it's all you'll need. And maybe a hat
I need a warm base layer for an upcoming trip to Antarctica. I ordered one of the new Base 4.0 Crew to try it out. It has a snug feel and keeps me toasty warm, even more than my other UA base layers which I like and wear a lot. I ordered a second Base 4.0 and both of my new tops will be part of the 33 pounds of luggage I’m allowed to take across the Drake Passage to Antarctica. I plan to stay comfortable riding from ship to shore in the open air zodiac boat.
I have a 4.0 that's lasted for about 12 years so far. It feels like neoprene and it's smooth not square patterned. The 3.0 shirts I have are square patterned. One is from about ten years ago and one is from last year. The 4.0 keeps me very warm. Remember, it's a BASE layer. It was never expected to keep you warm without putting on extra layers of clothing - like an outer shirt, sweat shirt and jacket!
This ColdGear Base 4.0 Crew shirt is excellent . Fits well, but without restriction. Works perfectly in inclement - read cold - weather when retaining body hear is essential. I would very much recommend it for December workouts in the Southern Appalachians.
My review pretty much mirrors the review from "WILLOW". I'm POSITIVE that these are nowhere near what they were before back a few years ago!!! I have the older versions of the 2.0, 3.0 AND the 4.0 and the mention of the cube/square patterns is dead on correct compared to these. These are most definitely NOT the same product NOR quality!!! Under Armour, GO BACK TO MAKING THE OTHER VERSIONS PLEASE!!! The current version are a JOKE! I guess that's difference between the BETTER version made in Honduras and now Vietnam???
This new base layer 4.0 crew is nowhere near as warm as the old 4.0 crew. I wear these all the time for work in the winter. I work in LE and can only wear a few layers under my uniform and body armor. You would think that Under Armour would make a product better not worse.
Purchased the ColdGear 4.0 Crew for my 96-year-old dad who is always chilled, whether he is in the house or working outside in the snow. He absolutely loves this shirt; however, he does have a problem putting on and taking off due to limitations in his arm flexibility. I hadn’t realized there is a 1/4 zip version when I purchased the crew. He should be receiving the ordered zip 4.0 in a day or two and will hopefully find it easier to deal with.
I have one pair of their base 4.0 and about 5 years old so got new ones. I’m very disappointed they have changed their design they used to be a square grid pattern and very warm. These new ones are thin and cheaply made feel good but not warm at all! Feels like they actually cool me off. Please make your other ones again thanks.
My job regularly requires me to stand outside and since it’s starting to get cold I figured I keep warm with a good base layer. I am very disappointed with how this product performed. I couldn’t spend more than a couple minutes outside with out starting to freeze. It wasn’t even below freezing yet. It couldn’t keep me warm at all. I ended up layering a few t-shirts under it to help.
