As far as air-out (blow) it's great, same with weight and overall use with the exception of one MAJOR design flaw. That flaw is the air intake is the back of the unit (not bottom or top, it is straight sucking from the back), this is the same area that is generally near your body while your holding it. What happens is the natural counter weight to the 'blow' is your body, which then blocks in air intake an over heats the battery. Even if your aware and try to keep it away from your body, the suction is so great that it will pull in your shirt or pant leg and same result of overheating. Being cordless means that I use it a lot more than my old corded one. And it's so quiet (for a blower) and really powerful! I used it for pushing gravel off my walk and driveway after a hailstorm yesterday. After washing my car, I use it to blow the water out of the hard-to-reach crevices around the trim. I've also used it to \"sweep\" the garage, and to get dirt out of my camper's storage areas. I have been very pleased by the reduced noise and gentler sound characteristics (even though the 2724 was already far quieter than any gasoline engine powered units - or - other electric/battery electric units that I have tried).\nI love the ambidextrous variable speed sliding lock (that allows keeping the blower running at any speed without needing to hold the trigger). However, I do miss the 2-speed control of the 2724 which allowed for a finer control of speed.\nThe weight of the new 3017 is almost identical to the older 2724. I weighed the 3017 as just 0.1 lbs heavier.\nI am so pleased that there are add-on nozzles available for 3017. I love how they attach. It is too bad they don't fit 2724, but there are aftermarket nozzles to fit it.\nThis is an excellent upgrade. (I was planning on this being a replacement, but sometimes it is super handy and helpful to have 2 blowers [one in each hand]. Though I would love to pass the older blower on to someone who hasn't experienced the joys of excellent battery electric OPE tools yet, I changed my mind and am selfishly hanging onto it for my own use. It is too good to give up. Sorry for not putting my old one on the used market. A lot more power than the 18v Ryobi counterpart. On a 6 amp hour battery you get about 20-25 minutes of solid run time which is more than enough.
