Product Description

Touted as the most popular portable propane heater in North America by its manufacturer, the Big Buddy Portable Heater from SCHEELS has been keeping folks comfortable and toasty in frigid conditions for decades. Perfect for heating cabins, ice-fishing shelters, tents and other structures up to 450 square feet as well as for job sites, hunting blinds, sports events and other places outside, this radiant 4,000-18,000 BTU liquid propane heater connects directly to two 1-pound propane cylinders. Its integrated fan helps distribute the heat, while high, medium and low settings let you achieve your desired comfort level.

You light this heater simply by pushing and rotating a knob to make the Piezo sparking mechanism kick in. Once it's running, an oxygen depletion sensor and accidental safety shut-off for tip-overs help ensure safety. For a longer heating duration, this unit can be connected with an optional hose to a 20-pound propane cylinder. The fan runs on four D batteries or an AC power cord, which are sold separately.

Big Buddy Heater
A good heater for ice fishing. Light and portable. The oxygen sensor and automatic shutdown make it safe to use inside a shelter. I find it is best to buy an optional hose to connect to a 20 lb. cylinder as 1 1b. cylinders don't last long in cold conditions. I have never used the battery/AC powered fan.
